Why do women have to have handbags, not just one but several that you have to change for who you are that day, night, etc...

I went out to Amsterdam for a grown up night out for the first time in ages (mother of 3 year and diminishing pool of babysitters willing to put up with him). Imagaine my joy. Took my new Prada grown up handbag so I didn't look a complete fool.

My usual everyday bag is a holster style nylon thing that's been my mummy bag since boy was born, i.e. its usually got nappies, wet wipes, food, drink plus several stains that I just cannot shift so its usually full of all the usual keep the little sod happy items that us mothers have to lug around. So you can understand my need for keeping up appearances.

So of course, there is a swop of certain items over to the Prada last night. This morning I run out the door to pick up/drop off dry cleaning with the Prada as son Mr T at creche so don't need usual bag. Of course standing in cleaners looking for ticket for sheets, which have now taken up residence there as its about the 4th week I've meant to pick them up and of course I'm now on got no clean sheets in house, desperate need for them - can I find it in purse, bag, shoe, coat - NOOOOOOO. Its in the black sack at home!!!!

Try to persaude cleaner to let me have sheets without ticket - typically Dutch I could do but I don't know they are yours - I've been bringing my things to you for nearly 2 years do you really think I'm going to run off with someone else's nylon, static, brown sheets!!!! Of course this is all related in Denglish - my little Dutch and their fluent Dutch with reluctance to speak English as there are other customers here and I want to retain face.....Oh why do we not live in Amsterdam or the Hague where its a certainty the shopkeepers English will be more fluent than mine.....

Of course W doesn't see what problem is. Go back and get them when you've picked ticket up from home. Do you not think I don't have anything else to do (of course I was taking his suits and coats in for dry cleaning) there are things I want to do in the time I'm child free today!!! Saturday of course they shut at 12 and we usually are just at the stage of getting there being such lazy arses on weekend mornings. So will have to try again tomorrow - well at least it means I don't have to change bed linen today - thank god. I am a slovenly slut - oh I wish....
